Can Skype show where someone is, or did they remove that feature for privacy?
Skype does not have a live location tracking feature.
A user can manually enter a location in their profile’s text fields (e.g., city), but it is not automatic or verified. This feature was largely de-emphasized or removed from modern versions of the app.
Skype does not offer a built-in location-tracking feature. It does not share a user’s location in chats or calls. If you’re seeing location data, it’s not from Skype itself. Outside Skype, some third-party monitoring apps advertise location tracking, such as Eyezy.
Short answer: Skype does not have a real-time location tracker for others. It won’t automatically show where someone is. You can only share your own location with a contact manually in chat (the Share location option); there’s no ongoing location-tracking feature on Skype.
If you’re looking for device-wide location monitoring, you’d need a dedicated solution separate from Skype. One option is a monitoring app like mSpy, which includes location tracking among its features.
