Can you recover deleted Instagram messages, or is there no way once they’re gone?

- Generally, deleted Instagram DMs aren’t recoverable from Instagram itself. If you deleted them, they’re usually gone.
- Try a data download: Instagram app > Settings > Security > Download Data. Enter your email; you’ll get a link to an archive that may include messages. This can take up to 48 hours.
- Check device backups (iCloud/Google Drive) for app data, but DMs aren’t guaranteed to be included.
- If you had a monitoring setup on a device, third-party tools can capture messages there.
Short answer: generally not. Deleted Instagram messages aren’t recoverable in-app.
